This week saw (despite the snow!) the foundation piles and beams installed on the construction of a new 8,000sqft GEA house in the sought after area of Kingswood, Surrey.

As the large extension and remodelling project for a private client in Kingswood, Surrey nears completion this month we are delighted to confirm our appointment for a similar sized project in neighbouring Chipstead.

Design work began in November 2007, planning permission was finally granted in early 2009, tenders issued in early summer and the contractor selected in October 2009 – this has been a long awaited start…

The project includes the creation of a new cinema / games rom, gymnasium, sauna and steam rooms, new 630sqft reception room, open plan family / kitchen space, new double height and enlarged Entrance Hall, new ensuite bathrooms etc.

While the front elevation has been kept in symmpathy with the existing facade the rear has been completed remodelled including two new wings with glazed gable ends, substantial glazed screens to the rear elevation, new glazed juliet balconies to the first floor rear bedrooms and a full new roof to the rear.

Planning Permission is expected March 2009.

This traditional Georgian style house has a number of renewable technologies designed into it including solar thermal panels to reduce carbon emissions by giving an 11% improvement over minimum Building Regulation standards.
